Jamie Romanet (b. Farmington, CT 1978) is an American painter living in France. She received a B.A in English and a B.A in Environmental Geography in 2000 and in 2004 received her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Painting in Florence, Italy. Her background includes apprenticing in New Orleans after Katrina as a painting restorer, and living and working in Paris, France for twelve years. Her work is a reflection of her interest in literature and poetry, the natural world, and other cultures. Her knowledge of art-history and the influences of her travels have all enriched her path as an artist. In 2016 Jamie decided to pursue her career full-time as a painter. Since, her paintings have been featured in numerous blogs and art magazines such as ArtMaze magazine, Brenda, I like Your Work, Creative Boom and Vast magazine. She has exhibited internationally including group shows at Mémoire de l'avenir, Paris, France, Ely Center of Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT; and Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, Boston, MA. Solo exhibitions include her 2019 show Echo with Turn Gallery, New York, NY; and All the Hemispheres with Municipal Bonds, San Francisco in 2020. Jamie was also a resident at Vermont Studios Center in 2005 and was provided with a fellowship for her month long stay. She currently lives with her family by the sea in the south-west of France.
